Hair: The full bodied messy ponytail...

My struggle for big hair often comes up against my need to have it tied back for my second restaurant job. Now, I am not a big fan of up-dos in anyway. When I can choose my hairstyle for myself it will ALWAYS be down maybe occasionally with some bits clipped back.

On the occasions I have to tie my hair up... This is my go to style because it involves as little volume loss as possible. I find it's better on second day hair. Before I begin, I start by spraying Batiste dry shampoo in XXL Volume all over the head - it obviously reduces second day greasy look and helps the volume stick. I'd then back-comb the hair from half way back to cover over my parting and hairspray throughout - my favourite for smell and hold has to be my GHD 'Final Fix' Spray. After my hair is as big as I can get it, I softly brush it back over the top to smooth it over.

Then I'd pull all the hair together into a pony tail and brush out the kinks in the bottom and the sides then secure with a band. I have a fringe - type style at the moment so I leave that section of hair out and just lightly back combed at the roots. Voila! Easy work friendly hairstyle.

Whats your favourite upto?

  1. I love this hairstyle, it's so quick and easy but it looks so lovely and could easily be worn on a night out as well as the daytime!
