Orange - big for spring

Bold orange is literally everywhere at the moment - from Karen Millen to FCUK and Miss Selfridge, its very hard to ignore. I think it's going to be huge this spring, which is a refreshing change from the pastels that dominated last year. I like it because it's very mod, sunny and it goes with  my personal favourite colour to wear - cobalt blue!

I did try and purchase this orange skater dress and this accented shift dress from Miss Selfridge over the weekend but unfortunately both were sold out in my size. Instead I thought I'd bring some orange into my work wardrobe, and when I found this dress from George at Asda I was sold.

I tend to stick with tunic style dresses for work because I like them to be comfortable and not too figure hugging so this one was perfect. It's nice and stretchy with a nice waffle like texture and good length sleeves. It was also a very affordable £12. Today I am wearing with thick black tights, my black ankle boots from old favourite New Look and my black blazer from Florence and Fred (I like my supermarket fashion!).

My George at Asda Orange Dress

I know there is some snobbery around supermarket fashion but Tesco, Asda and Sainsburys have all got great affordable collections of smart office wear. I don't really need formal tailored pieces for my office environment so they suit my needs, tastes and budget great. I also find they're all a great fit where as sometimes my proportions suffer in formal clothes from more expensive stores.

Sorry for the pictures, I had no one to grab to take my picture so it was selfie time! I can't wait to invest in some great equipment to make my blog better - DSLR is number one on the list!

So do you think orange will be big this SS? What do you think of supermarket fashion. Let me know in the comments.

  1. Oh my gosh, that is such a good dupe and a great bargain! Well done Asda *raises hat to Asda* haha. I think people always look down on supermarket clothing lines also, they have some great stuff in their collections- and they're such good prices! Hurrah! Oh and you look fabulous :-)

    1. Thank you!! Yes I love Asda, half my work wardrobe is from there! I find they have good bold colours and a selection of sizes you don't get in high street stores (as a 14, I can hardly find any of the pieces which are flattering to my shape, in my size because everyones had the same idea!) xx

  2. Love the Asda dress!! Looks similar to a Topshop dress I was eyeing up last year but naturally was £40 instead of £12 - what a bargain!

I'm currently going through as orange obsession as evidenced by my latest handbag purchase which I blogged abouthere.
