'Barely there' makeup look - perfect for school

barely there, simple, makeup, school, work, i woke up like this,

I remember it well, struggling to hide behind lockers as my head teacher patrolled our school halls with a packet of make up wipes ready to rid us of our badly applied eyeliner and liberally glossed lips. At the time I was devastated and convinced that more was more but now during the day I prefer a more subtle look.
Whether you're getting ready for school, uni or work - time in bed is paramount and getting ready must be effortless 'I woke up like dis' chic. This is my go to look when I'm trying to appear like I'm not trying and I'm purely a fresh faced youth.

For a look like this the base has to do all the talking, I want a light dewy finish but still enough to make sure my imperfections are largely under the radar. I've been trying a new foundation at the moment by Oxygenetix and it's really fantastic medium coverage with a dewy finish due in part to it's aloe vera base (I will be reviewing this very soon for you). For bright eyed morning enthusiasm it has to be Rimmel's Wake Me Up finished off with Benefit Rockatear and Topshop Glowstick on the cheeky bones for some school girl rosy charm.

On my brows I lightly tamed with Benefit 'Gimme Brow' then add a light layer of a matte brown to the lids such as this one by Rimmel (comes in palette of 3). I finished off with a really light coat of a lengthening mascara such as 'They're Real' and a clear gloss or balm.

Done and looking fresh faced and bushy tailed for whatever you have dragged yourself out of bed for. Best part is that it will look like you were just born this way beautiful so you can avoid the makeup police! If only I'd have known this in 2004...
