A Sleek Base - Bare Skin foundation and Control Shine Primer

Sleek, drugstore, makeup, foundation, primer, bargain, bare skin foundation, shell, control shine & prime, primer,

I'm a drugstore girl on the whole, but foundations are usually something I don't mind spending a little more on. I would never have picked this up, but I got it in a goody bag from the lovely Bloggers Tea Party a couple of weeks ago. Light matte coverage isn't something that usually appeals to me but I was looking forward to trying something that could just achieve a 'my skin but better' look.

The primer is nude in colour and goes on really softly and reminds me of Benefit's 'Porefessional'. A little bit definitely does NOT go a long way and I felt like I had to use half the tube to cover my face but I did provide a nice smooth base.

The foundation is very sheer and not really buildable so it is definitely one for those better skin days. I actually liked how it blended very easily and two pumps gave a nice even coverage. As you will see in the before and after photo, it's very subtle but is nice because it genuinely does feel light.

I don't think the primer particularly adds any longevity to the foundation having tried it with and without but it gave a nice shine free finish. The foundation lasts towards the end of a working day and fades in a way that's not offensive and doesn't need much management.  I'd definitely get the foundation again, it fills a particular gap in my collection and retailing at £9.99 it's a bargain.

I love Sleek products and I'm really glad I got the chance to try this. I'd love to know what your favourites are? In the bottom photo it's before (left) and after (right) and I'm wearing the shade 'Shell' which is nice and cool toned which is essential for me.

Thanks for reading!

  2. I've been enjoying the foundation but haven't got to try the primer yet. Annoying that you needed to apply so much of it to achieve the desired result. Will try to dig it out of my drawer tomorrow and see how I get on with it. x
