Now if beauty blogs are your thing then you will be no stranger to these two brands. Whilst they aren't commonly ones my pennies stretch two, last month when perusing Manchester Selfridge's AMAZING beauty hall and feeling a little giddy after a run in with Dougie & Ellie Goulding I took the plunge and picked up a couple of things I'd been lusting after for a while.

The first was the Taylor Swift red - Nars Velvet Matte Pencil in Dragon Girl. After obsessing over Taylor's signature beauty look for months I knew I needed this as soon as I found out this was what she used. I wasn't sure what to expect out of a matte crayon but it's surprisingly moisturising. The colour is actually very buildable - first going on as a pinky toned scarlet and then you can work it up into a full blown matte statement lip. In the photo I went for somewhere in between. It's so easy to apply and lasts ALL DAY no lie.

My second purchase also fuelled my matte addiction, as well as my fascination for a counter I'd never seen in person before - Charlotte Tilbury. Now I've seen these beautiful rose gold beauties all over blogs and YouTube but they really don't do justice to how special they look in person. The unique shape of the bullet makes application a dream and it goes on so thick one coat is really all you need. Now honestly the lasting power isn't what you'd usually expect from a matte finish but it's not bad and it would probably get better with a bolder shade. I went for one I hadn't actually seen online - Amazing Grace which is a lovely rosy pink and unlike anything else in my collection. This has quickly rocketed to the top of my favourite lipsticks list, and I know I want to add another one to my lot but at £24 they will have to stay a special treat.

Now this little splurge might have been brought on by giddiness but is really hashtag no regrets because I absolutely LOVE both purchases. I think it's lucky I don't live near Manchester because Selfridge's beauty hall would be bad for my bank balance!

What's your favourite high end lip product? Can you recommend any other shades in these ones? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time!
